Brewing adda, music & memories of Tagore over tea

A cultural evening, Cha-Chakra, is set to recreate the intimate world of Rabindranath Tagore through the simple yet profound ritual of tea. The programme draws from Tagore’s deep association with tea as a space for reflection, creativity, and meaningful exchange. From the verandahs of Jorasanko to the serene environs of Santiniketan, tea was more than a beverage—it was a catalyst for conversations that shaped literature, music, and philosophy. The presentation also traces Tagore’s encounters with tea cultures across Asia, including his travels to China and Japan, while weaving in anecdotes of iconic contemporaries like Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay, Swami Vivekananda, and Sister Nivedita. Curated by Korak Basu and Rinadolon Bandopadhyay, and featuring performances by Pradip Dutta and Subrata Mukherjee, the evening promises an immersive journey into a living, breathing Tagorean adda—where stories, songs, and steaming cups of tea come together.
