No one was injured in the incident
Thane: A sedan was completely gutted after it suddenly caught fire near Kopri on Friday night. No injuries were reported but Majiwada -bound on the Eastern Express highway remained affected for nearly 45 minutes.According to officials, the incident occurred at around 8 pm when the driver and his passenger were travelling from Vikhroli to Kolshet. The driver spotted smoke and immediately halted it on the highway and immediately got out of the vehicle, before the vehicle was enveloped in flames.A team of civic rescue officials rushed to the spot and doused the burning car, which was later towed away to the roadside. The car was completely damaged and the cause of blaze is yet to be ascertained, informed Yasin Tadvi, in-charge at the RDMC.
