Court reserves order on key accused’s bail plea

Ranchi: A special CID court on Tuesday reserved its order on the bail plea of Abhay Kumar Tiwari, a key accused in the alleged JPSC and JSSC recruitment examination irregularities. The order is likely on Wednesday.The CID arrested Tiwari, his wife Sushma Kumari and brother Akshay Kumar Tiwari following a 26-day agitation by aspirants over alleged examination irregularities.Tiwari worked as marketing manager with exam-conducting agency TSR Data Processing Ltd. Investigators alleged that he violated conflict of interest norms and fraudulently cleared several recruitment exams, using his purported success to lure aspirants seeking illegal help. CID claimed Tiwari charged around Rs 5 lakh for clearing preliminary exams and Rs 10 lakh to Rs 25 lakh for securing final selection.Investigators alleged that the syndicate manipulated results through question paper leaks, impersonation, tampering with OMR sheets and interference with evaluation servers. OMR sheets of more than 350 forest range officer and nearly 150 assistant conservator of forest examinees were allegedly tampered with.The accused also allegedly collected candidates’ original certificates, cancelled cheques and signed blank papers to ensure payment.Meanwhile, a CID team visited the JSSC office in Namkum on Tuesday to collect documentary and digital evidence.
