New Delhi: Hours after the Prime Minister announced setting up of fast-track courts for trying paper leak cases, Delhi became the first in the country to carve out a new court to hear such cases.In a late evening development, Delhi High Court announced that judge Anu Grover Baliga will preside over the new court in Rouse Avenue court complex meant to hear cases relating to public examinations.A notification to this effect said that the Chief Justice of HC “has been pleased to make the following posting/transfer in the Delhi Higher Judicial Service with immediate effect” and announced judge Baliga as the presiding officer.It further said that the special judge at CBI court who was dealing with such cases along with other corruption rleated matters will “transfer all the pending cases under the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024 and connected offences to the newly created fast track court.”Baliga, who was till now dealing with mediation-related cases in Tis Hazari courts, will now be a special CBI judge in charge of cases emanating from Prevention of Corruption Act in a specially designated fast track court to try the offences under Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024 and connected offenses.Before her role as the judge in charge of the Delhi mediation centre at the Tis Hazari court complex, she was presiding as the district judge in charge of commercial court in South-East District at the Saket court complex.
