Doorstep health screening and treatment campaign launched in Madhubani

Madhubani: A three-month doorstep screening and treatment campaign for non-communicable diseases was launched at Sadar Hospital in Madhubani on Tuesday. The drive, kicked off under the National Programme for Prevention and Control of Non-Communicable Diseases (NP-NCD), will continue till Nov 30.District magistrate Anand Sharma, civil surgeon Harendra Kumar, health department officials, doctors and health workers were present at the launch.Officials said the campaign would focus on timely detection and treatment of non-communicable diseases. People will be linked with health services and provided screening and treatment facilities as needed.Addressing the gathering, Sharma said timely diagnosis and treatment of non-communicable diseases could help prevent serious health complications. He directed officials and health workers to implement the campaign effectively and ensure that services reach as many people as possible.The DM also asked officials to run awareness vehicles across the district and carry out publicity campaigns to inform people about the initiative. He appealed to residents to take advantage of the campaign.Civil surgeon Harendra Kumar said screening and treatment arrangements would be made as per prescribed guidelines during the campaign period. He urged people to take health check-ups seriously and seek timely medical advice in case of any health problem.
