E S’bhum seizes 440 tonnes of illegally mined minerals in Aug

Jamshedpur: East Singhbhum district authorities confiscated 440 tonnes of illegally extracted minerals in August during a crackdown on unlawful mining, transport and storage of sand and minor minerals.Deputy commissioner Rajiv Ranjan, chairing the district mining task force meeting on Saturday, ordered a relentless, zero-tolerance campaign across the district and directed cross-departmental enforcement teams to carry out surprise raids. He said action must be launched immediately whenever actionable intelligence is received.Ranjan told officials from mining, police, traffic and administration wings to work in coordination to choke illegal mining supply lines. “We must conduct rigorous, routine audits of transit permits and warehouse logs to ensure total regulatory compliance,” the DC said.
