Garhwa: The headmaster of a govt school in Garhwa district was suspended by deputy commissioner Pashupati Nath Mishra on Saturday for allegedly molesting a Class 8 student, following an inquiry.The action was taken after the district administration took cognisance of the student’s complaint. On the direction of Mishra, district superintendent of education Anurag Minz conducted an inquiry. The report confirmed the allegation of molestation, following which the DC ordered the headmaster’s suspension with immediate effect and initiated departmental proceedings against him.Officials said the matter was treated with seriousness because it involved the safety and dignity of a child. The administration has indicated that strict action will be taken in cases of misconduct by teachers or school staff.“To ensure children’s security, respect and a safe teaching environment is our priority,” Mishra said, adding that no laxity in such matters or indecent behaviour will be tolerated.
