Patna: The golden jubilee motorcycle rally of 14th Bihar Battalion was flagged off by Bihar Regiment Centre (BRC) commandant Brigadier Rakesh Kumar Bora from the BRC ground at Danapur cantonment on Wednesday.The rally, which was organised under the ‘Shaurya Sambandh’ initiative to commemorate 50 years of 14th Bihar Battalion, had reached Danapur cantonment on the evening of Sept 29. The motorcycle expedition, comprising 12 riders, was initially flagged off from Kolkata on Sept 24 and passed through Odisha and Jharkhand before reaching Danapur.According to BRC commandant Brig Bora, the riders interacted with ex-servicemen of the state and Veer Naris (war widows) during their stay at the cantonment. They shared their experiences and recalled the glorious journey of 14th Bihar Battalion, he said, adding the interaction provided an opportunity to strengthen the bond between serving personnel, veterans and their families.After the flag-off from Danapur cantonment, the rally proceeded towards Gaya and Dhanbad before returning to Kolkata. The riders would cover a total distance of around 1,840 km during the expedition, he said, adding the event highlighted the valour, traditions and spirit of camaraderie associated with Bihar Regiment while paying tribute to the contributions of its veterans and serving soldiers.kumodverma@gmail.com
