NEW DELHI: An earlier episode involving complaints against one of the accused at a gym and the recovery of several obscene videos from another accused’s phone have emerged as part of the Delhi Police investigation into the alleged gangrape of a 17-year-old girl at Aastha Kunj Park.Police said Hemant, one of the three accused, was removed from a gym he frequented about a month ago after its management allegedly received several complaints from women about his behaviour.A senior police officer said investigators are examining the complaints and checking whether the episode has any connection with the present case.The investigation has also revealed that several “objectionable” videos were allegedly found on the mobile phone of accused Asif. Police have sent the phones of all three accused to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) to examine their digital activity.Investigators are checking whether any video of the 17-year-old victim was recorded and are also attempting to retrieve data allegedly deleted from the phones of Hemant and his brother Mukesh.Police are examining the accused’s search history, contacts, call records and other digital evidence to reconstruct their activities before and after Monday evening’s alleged assault.During the probe, police also recovered a pistol, a knife and condoms from accused Asif.The police are also investigating whether the three men had been involved in any similar incidents earlier. According to investigators, the accused frequently visited Aastha Kunj Park and are being questioned about their movements and activities there.So far, police said they have not found any formal complaint against the trio relating to an earlier incident. Investigators are checking whether any potential victims may have refrained from approaching police.The three accused have been arrested and sent to judicial custody. Police are continuing their probe into the alleged assault as well as the digital evidence recovered from their phones.
