Ranchi: Additional chief secretary health Ajoy Kumar Singh on Wednesday asked all districts to start swine flu testing at the earliest. Swine flu tests are currently being conducted at Ranchi Sadar Hospital, Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (Rims) and Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College and Hospital in Jamshedpur.Singh issued the directive while reviewing the state’s swine flu situation and testing facilities in a meeting with officials from all districts. He took stock of the availability of RT-PCR machines, the status of non-functional machines and testing kits.He directed districts without testing facilities to immediately send requisitions for RT-PCR machines. Singh also said technicians and pathologists should be provided training at Rims or Sadar Hospital, if required, to ensure testing facilities become operational across the state.
