Man files plaint after robbery at gunpoint

Kolkata: An Ekbalpore resident who had been ambushed and robbed of cash, jewellery and personal belongings at gunpoint in the first week of Aug gathered the courage to lodge an FIR only recently. According to him, he was also brutally assaulted during the robbery on Warshi Lane in the intervening night of Sept 4 and 5, between 11.30 pm and 1.30 am. The victim, Sk Salauddin from Moulana Mohammed Ali Road, was walking towards his residence when he was intercepted in front of 6, Warshi Lane.An initial physical assault by two individuals quickly escalated when a group of seven-eight unidentified miscreants joined the scene. The attackers surrounded the complainant and held him at gunpoint, threatening to shoot him. The miscreants then beat him up before systematically looting his valuables, including a silver chain weighing 40g, a gold ring, a smartphone, a wallet with Rs 5,000, and various documents, like PAN card, ATM cards, and other ID cards.The ordeal came to an end when the victim shouted for help, alerting locals, who rushed towards the spot, forcing the gang to flee.
