Patna: Minor water resources minister and HAM(S) chief Santosh Kumar Suman and JD(U) spokesperson Neeraj Kumar on Friday demanded a high-level inquiry into the allotment of land in Kautilya Nagar, where RJD chief Lalu Prasad and former CM Rabri Devi shifted after vacating the 10, Circular Road bungalow on Thursday. RJD spokesperson Ejaz Ahmad dismissed the allegations, saying NDA functionaries were suffering from “Lalu phobia”.Citing allegations made by former deputy CM late Sushil Kumar Modi in his book ‘Lalu Leela’, the NDA functionaries claimed rules were violated in the allotment and transfer of plots numbered 207, 208, 209, 210 and 211 by the cooperative housing society formed for MPs and legislators.Neeraj alleged plot number 210 had originally been earmarked for a community hall. “Rabri also misused her position as the then CM and violated Clause 2 of the society’s bylaws,” he said.Quoting the book, Neeraj alleged five plots were merged over the years to create the present bungalow complex. The book also alleged plot 208 was allotted to Lalu in 1992, while plot 210, originally reserved for a community hall, was later allotted to Rabri’s brother Anirudh Prasad alias Sadhu Yadav.Suman said the allegations had remained in the public domain for years without a detailed response from the Lalu family. “If these allegations were entirely baseless, why was there no factual refutation? And if there was truth to them, why has no action been taken to date?” he asked.He demanded “a high-level, impartial, and time-bound inquiry into the entire affair concerning the Kautilya Nagar Housing Society.”Responding to the allegations, RJD spokesperson Ejaz Ahmad accused Neeraj of pursuing “cut-paste politics” and alleged he was “on the BJP’s parole”.“He is not only damaging the JD(U) politics but also the social justice movement,” Ejaz said, adding that no one took such statements seriously because NDA functionaries were afflicted with “Lalu phobia”.
