Hazaribag: Two members of the Rahul Dubey gang have been arrested on Thursday for allegedly extorting money from local coal traders, police said.The arrested accused were identified as Mannu Kumar Saw (19) of Saudagar Mohalla in Ramgarh Cantonment, and Avinash Kumar (18) of Koritola Munda in Ramgarh district, police added.Officer in-charge of the Giddi police station, Md Iqbal Hussain, said, “Acting on inputs that two gang members were fleeing towards Ramgarh via Bundu Basariya on a black motorcycle after collecting extortion money, we waited near Tongi-Giddi Main Road. The suspects attempted to flee when signalled to stop but were chased and apprehended by police personnel.”A case has been registered at Giddi police station (case number 30/26 dated September 10, 2026) under sections 111(2)(b), 111(3), 308(3) and 308(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Further investigation is under way to ascertain the gang’s involvement in other extortion-related activities in the coal belt, police said.A total of Rs 40,000 in cash, two smartphones, and a motorcycle (bearing registration number JH24M-6620) were seized from the accused, police added.
