Dumka: NDRF personnel rescued two kanwariyas after they nearly drowned while taking a holy dip in the Shiv Ganga pond at Basukinath on Thursday.Rajesh Kumar Singh, 40, a resident of Dhanbad, ventured into deep water while bathing and began to drown. His companion, Nishikant Singh, 42, also from Dhanbad, tried to save him but was pulled into the deeper section of the pond.NDRF personnel stationed near the pond rushed to their aid and rescued both men, the district information and public relations department said in a statement.Both devotees are safe and in stable condition. The administration has advised visitors to stay within designated bathing zones and follow safety guidelines.
