Ranchi: A two-year-old girl was run over by a speeding pick-up van near her home at Amtand under Ratu police station limits in the city on Monday morning, police said.Police said Priyanshi was playing outside her roadside home when she stepped onto the road and was hit by the vehicle. Her family rushed her to a local hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries during treatment. The driver fled with the vehicle after the accident. Police have launched a search to trace and arrest him.Residents alleged that the driver was under the influence of alcohol, but police said the claim was yet to be verified.
