Patna: Patna police on Sunday stepped up their investigation into the June 2 violence and firing incident linked to Khan Global Studies by pasting a notice at the coaching institute and summoning three staff members for questioning.A team from Kadamkuan police station, accompanied by security personnel, visited the coaching centre and served notices on three employees, alleging they had failed to cooperate with the ongoing investigation. The notices were issued to Ankit Kumar Pandey, Ajit Kumar and Kanhaiya Kumar Singh, all associated with the coaching institute. Police directed them to appear before investigators and record their statements in connection with the case.According to the notice, the three had been repeatedly asked to join the investigation through verbal communication, written notices and WhatsApp messages. However, despite multiple summons, they allegedly did not appear before the investigating officers.Town DSP (Patna) Rajesh Ranjan said the notices were part of the normal investigative process and should not be viewed as an extraordinary step.He said police routinely summon individuals whose statements may help establish the sequence of events or provide relevant information during an investigation.“Those summoned are required to appear before investigators for questioning, and if they fail to respond, additional notices may be served,” he said.Ranjan added that the notice pasted at the coaching institute was part of the standard procedure being followed in the case. The DSP said investigators were recording statements from all persons who were present during the incident or who might have knowledge of the events that unfolded on June 2.“Khan’s statement had earlier been recorded as part of the investigation,” he said. The case relates to the June 2 incident in which a group of individuals allegedly attacked the coaching institute, assaulted a security guard, pelted stones and tore down posters and banners outside the premises. The violence later triggered multiple FIRs and a wider investigation by Patna Police.
