Jamshedpur: In a major relief for rail passengers in Kolhan, the Railway Board has approved stoppages of three long-distance trains at Ghatsila and Manoharpur stations following longstanding public demand.The Howrah-CSMT Mumbai Gitanjali Express and Howrah-Pune Azad Hind Superfast Express will now stop at Ghatsila, benefiting passengers from Galudih, Dhalbhumgarh, Kokpara and Chakulia who currently travel to Tatanagar or Kharagpur to board these trains.Jamshedpur MP Bidyut Baran Mahato said, “The move would ease travel for businessmen, students and others commuting to Mumbai, Pune, Nashik and Nagpur.”The Board has also approved a stoppage for the Tatanagar-Ernakulam Express at Manoharpur.Singhbhum MP Joba Majhi said, “The halt would benefit people travelling to southern states for jobs, education and medical treatment.“ She had raised the demand with railway officials earlier this year.The experimental stoppages are expected to begin in Sept.
