Daltonganj: Nilamber Pitamber University (NPU) witnessed a major administrative reshuffle on Wednesday with the appointment of a new in-charge registrar and the curtailment of vice chancellor Dr Dinesh Kumar Singh’s administrative and financial powers.The higher education department directed the university to appoint Mritunjay Kumar as in-charge registrar after accepting the resignation of registrar Nafis Ahmad. The university issued the notification on Sept 9 and asked Ahmad to hand over charge the same day. Kumar formally joined the post on Thursday.Speaking to TOI, Kumar said, “I have assumed charge today.” University sources said he would continue to hold the additional charge of proctor.
