Jamshedpur: Two youths were killed in Gamharia police station limits of Seraikela-Kharsawan district late on Tuesday after their motorcycle was hit by a speeding truck from the rear. The incident took place on the Tata-Kandra main road near Nirmal Path in Chhota Gamharia.The deceased were identified as Mohammad Nisar, 22, and Mohammad Rehan, 18. Nisar, a resident of Ansar Nagar under Kapali outpost limits of Chandil police station area, was killed on the spot. Rehan, critically injured, was admitted to the Tata Main Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. He was a resident of Gausnagar under Kapali outpost.The duo installed false ceilings and were returning to their homes after day’s work. The truck driver abandoned his vehicle and fled the scene after the incident. Angry locals staged protests which blocked the Tata-Kandra main road for quite some time.Sanjay Prasad, the officer – in charge of Gamharia police station, said the truck was seized. “Efforts are underway to trace the absconding driver, while an investigation is underway.”
