K A GuptaGumla: Two persons were arrested for killing their friend and dumping his mutilated body in a water-filled abandoned stone quarry in Oyna Tongri in Lohardaga, police said on Wednesday.On Tuesday, police recovered the beheaded body with severed legs in a sack floating in the quarry water.Acting on the information, a police team led by Sadar police station OC Ratnesh Mohan Thakur began a probe by circulating the pictures through different channels to establish the victim’s identity.The deceased was subsequently identified as Hussain Ansari (22), a resident of New Azad Basti near Sabun Factory in Lohardaga.Within seven hours, police nabbed Arman Khan, 22, a resident of Noor Nagar, Lohardaga, and Md Shahwaz Ahmad alias Raj, 25, of Durgabari Lane, Powerganj, Lohardaga, Thakur said.“Based on their confession, the remaining body parts and the materials used in the crime, including a hacksaw and blade, were recovered,” he said.According to police, the accused confessed that on the night of July 4, they assaulted Hussain at Shahwaz’s house in Durgabari Lane. They further admitted that they dismembered the body and disposed of it to avert detection.Lohardaga SP Sadique Anwar Rizwi said, “The deceased and the accused were friends. They organised a party at the house of Shahwaz where the deceased was thrashed following a row over some issue. They were in an intoxicated state. When the accused persons found him dead, they tried to conceal the body by mutilating it and throwing it in a sack.”
