Chatra: A 50-year-old man was arrested in Chatra district for allegedly raping his daughter-in-law and threatening her, police said on Friday. The accused was arrested late on Thursday after an FIR was lodged.According to the survivor’s complaint, she got married on March 7, 2026. She alleged that her father-in-law sexually assaulted her on June 27 and 28 when she was alone at home. He also allegedly threatened to kill her if she disclosed the crime to anyone.The woman later went to her parental home and informed her family members, following which a written complaint was submitted.Officer Harishchand Tirwar said that her husband left for another state for work around five days before the alleged incident and returned home after learning about the matter.“Following preliminary investigation, police arrested the accused and produced him before a court, which remanded him in judicial custody. Further investigation is underway,” Tirwar said.
