Patna: CM Samrat Choudhary on Friday led a Tiranga Yatra in Haveli Kharagpur town of Munger district as part of the nationwide Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan 2026, drawing thousands of participants and creating a festive atmosphere ahead of Independence Day.The yatra commenced from Ambedkar Chowk and concluded at Patel Chowk. Choudhary walked nearly 1.5km carrying the national flag as people joined the procession and raised patriotic slogans. School students carrying miniature Tricolours also participated in large numbers.Addressing the gathering, Choudhary said the national flag symbolises the country’s unity, integrity and pride. He urged people to make the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign a mass movement by ensuring participation from every household.During the yatra, the CM paid floral tributes to noted artist Nandalal Bose at Nandalal Bose Chowk, Dr B R Ambedkar at Ambedkar Chowk and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel at Patel Chowk.Among those who accompanied him were sugarcane industries minister and Munger district in charge minister Sanjay Kumar, MLAs Nachiketa and Kumar Pranay, MLC Lal Mohan Gupta and other public representatives. Local residents, students and social and political workers also participated in the march.Officials said the programme reinforced the message of national unity and patriotism. Organisers added that the enthusiastic participation of youth and schoolchildren reflected the growing reach of the campaign in Bihar.Earlier in the day, Choudhary hoisted the Tricolour at his official residence, Lok Sewak Awas, in Patna as part of the campaign.
