Jamshedpur: Gudri block in West Singhbhum has topped NITI Aayog’s delta rankings for January–March 2026 across eastern India, beating blocks in Bihar, Odisha, and Bengal under the ‘Aspirational Blocks Programme’.“Gudri block securing the top position across eastern India reflects the relentless efforts of our team, effective monitoring, active public participation, and the successful implementation of the ‘NITI Tara’ initiative,” deputy commissioner Manish Kumar said.Officials credited implementation of ‘NITI Tara’, which pushed interventions in health and nutrition, quality education, agriculture and livelihood promotion, infrastructure development, financial inclusion, and good governance. It strengthened inter-departmental coordination, field monitoring, data-driven planning, community participation, and an innovation-driven work culture.The administration reviewed ‘Aspirational Blocks Programme’ and ‘NITI Tara’ targets for timely implementation and monitoring. Public representatives, self-help groups, panchayat members, anganwadi workers, sahiyas, teachers, and rural communities played a strategic role.“Our goal is to ensure that every rural household receives the full benefits of govt development schemes. We will continue working towards making West Singhbhum a model district by achieving excellence across all key indicators laid down by NITI Aayog,” he added.The best practices, innovations, and successful strategies developed under the NITI Tara initiative would be replicated in other blocks of the district to accelerate inclusive and sustainable development, the DC further said.
