Hazaribag: A 60-year-old woman was killed after being hit by a truck while crossing the GT Road in Chouparan block late on Tuesday. The deceased was identified as Sarni Devi, a resident of Mahudi. She was killed on the spot. Locals created a road blockade after the incident, leading to traffic congestion. The blockade was lifted after assurance from police. “We have seized the truck, and a hunt is underway to arrest its driver,” Pankaj Kumar, the officer in-charge of Chouparan police station, said. Former Barhi MLA Umashankar Akela spoke to her family members and assured help in future.
