Jamshedpur: A seven-year-old girl died down and two others sustained serious injuries when a speeding private school bus went out of control near Anna Chowk and hit them on Saturday, police said.Aarohi Kumari of Bhola Bagan, Govindpur, had come with her family to get their car washed. She was standing by the roadside when the bus veered towards her and hit her. She died on the spot, police added.The driver fled with the bus after the crash. Govindpur and Telco police intercepted it near Hurlung-Telco BEd College, arrested driver Sunil, seized the vehicle and initiated legal proceedings.Angry residents blocked Anna Chowk for around six hours. “Eight people have been killed in road accidents at Anna Chowk In the last two years. We demand the immediate implementation of restrictions on the entry of heavy commercial vehicles during peak hours besides other regulatory measures to prevent such accidents in the future,” said Zila Parishad member Paritosh Singh.School management said dialogue with the family members of the victim is under way.Officer in-charge of the Govindpur police station Pawan Kumar said, “A probe has been launched into the incident.”Rehan, 11, and Roshan Verma, 30, both Govindpur residents, were taken to the Tata Motors Hospital.
