Ramgarh admin steps up preparedness against H1N1, infectious diseases
Hospitals have been directed to keep isolation wards, life-saving drugs, equipment and referral facilities ready

Ramgarh: The health department has stepped up preparations amid concerns over seasonal influenza and H1N1 cases. Following directions from Ramgarh deputy commissioner, civil surgeon Dr Anil Kumar and the epidemiology team issued guidelines to all health facilities.Medical officers have been asked to prepare micro-plans for 100% screening of schoolchildren under the Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram, with health and education officials coordinating camps and tracking treatment.Hospitals must keep isolation wards, life-saving drugs, equipment and referral facilities ready. Officials were also trained in H1N1 detection, prevention, sample collection and treatment. The department has intensified leptospirosis surveillance and advised residents to avoid contaminated water and promptly report symptoms.
