Hazaribag: The driver of a pickup van was arrested for allegedly breaking into a kiosk and stealing goods near Banhe on the Simaria-Bagra road in Chatra district in the early hours of Saturday, Simaria police said.The accused, Naresh Kumar (33) of Kasiyadih village under Sadar police station, was sent to judicial custody. Police recovered the stolen goods, the pickup van used in the crime and an iron rod used to break the lock.Chatra SDPO Sunny Vardhan said that police acted on a tip-off and a team led by OC Amit Kumar Gupta intercepted the vehicle on Banhe-Harsanathpur road as it was heading towards Harsanathpur. Goods from the kiosk were found scattered inside the vehicle. The driver initially tried to evade questions, but during interrogation admitted to the theft and named Ajay Yadav and Ghanshyam Yadav as accomplices. Both escaped on a motorcycle.Police recovered a refrigerator, cold drinks, chips and other snacks. An FIR has been registered. The raid team included OC Amit Kumar Gupta, ASI Dilip Rajak and armed personnel.
